Terms of service.

The agreement between you and Actirova when you use our learning platform, apps, and AI tools.

Last updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Actirova AI Tutor ("Actirova", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). They govern your use of actirova.com, our mobile apps, and all related services (together, the "Service"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a school, company, or other organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
  • One person, one account — unless you are an instructor managing a classroom, you may not share accounts.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or that appear compromised.

3. Credits, pricing, and payments

Actirova works on a pay-as-you-go credit system. Generating content consumes credits, and the cost is shown before you confirm every generation. Credit costs may change over time; the cost shown at the time of generation is the price you pay.

  • You receive a promotional number of free credits when you sign up (currently 60), which have no cash value and are granted at our discretion.
  • Credit packs are one-time purchases. Credits never expire and are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Payments are processed by Paystack. You may pay by card (USD) or M-Pesa (KES) where available. By purchasing, you authorize us to charge the applicable amount.
  • Credit packs are non-refundable except where required by law or where we cause the error. Refund or replacement requests go to support@actirova.ai.
  • We reserve the right to change prices, credit costs, or promotional offers at any time. Changes do not affect credits you have already purchased.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
  • Harass, abuse, defame, threaten, or discriminate against any person or group.
  • Submit false, misleading, or impersonating information.
  • Generate, distribute, or request content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, or exploitative.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or connected systems.
  • Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or other malicious code.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the Service's underlying models or software.
  • Use automated means (bots, scripts) to generate content or consume credits at a scale that disrupts the Service.

5. AI-generated content and its limits

Actirova uses artificial intelligence to generate content. AI can be wrong. Generated courses, answers, reports, and career advice should be treated as study aids — verify important facts, especially medical, legal, financial, and safety information, with a qualified professional.

You are responsible for how you use generated content, including ensuring that content you share or submit (for example, an essay) meets the academic or professional standards of the institution or employer you submit it to. The Service is not a substitute for professional advice.

6. Ownership of content

  • Your content: courses, quizzes, flashcards, reports, and documents you generate or upload remain yours. You grant Actirova a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you.
  • Our platform: the Service, its software, design, trademarks, and underlying AI models are the exclusive property of Actirova and its licensors. You may not use our marks or trade dress without prior written consent.
  • Shared content: when you share a course or enter a classroom, the recipients may view, use, and (where permitted by the course owner) copy that content.

7. Virtual classrooms and instructor conduct

Instructors who create virtual classrooms agree to:

  • Have the authority to teach the enrolled students and to collect any required parental consent.
  • Set clear expectations for students and keep classroom content appropriate and lawful.
  • Not use classroom features to collect data beyond what the classroom needs, or share student data with third parties.
  • Handle grades, attendance, and assignments responsibly and fairly.

Actirova is a tool, not the instructor. Instructors remain responsible for their courses and interactions with students, including compliance with applicable education and data protection laws.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service integrates third-party services (for example, payment processing, Google sign-in, and AI infrastructure) and may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties, and your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Actirova and its directors, employees, partners, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising from your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to Actirova in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Actirova and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Changes to the Service and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we make material changes, we will post the revised Terms here and update the "Last updated" date, and where appropriate notify you by email or in-app notice.

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; credits are non-refundable except as stated in Section 3. Sections that by nature survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will continue to apply.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The parties will first try to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at legal@actirova.ai. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. General

  • Severability: if any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
  • Waiver: our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
  • Entire agreement: these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Actirova regarding the Service.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor without restriction.

15. Contact

In plain language

Common questions, answered.

Short, human answers to the questions people ask most about our terms.

Yes. Learners can use the Service for personal study, and educators can create virtual classrooms for teaching. Commercial redistribution of generated content (for example, selling courses you generated) is not allowed without a separate written license from Actirova.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, remove offending content, or take legal action where appropriate. Minor issues are usually resolved with a warning and a chance to fix them first.

Credit packs are non-refundable except where required by law, because generation consumes third-party AI services the moment you use it. If something goes wrong on our side, we will replace or refund affected credits — contact support@actirova.ai and we will sort it out.

You do. Courses, quizzes, flashcards, reports, and career documents you generate belong to you, subject to Actirova's rights to its underlying platform, and subject to these Terms.

Terms change; your rights don't shrink.

We will always notify you of material changes and keep this page updated. Questions? The legal team is one email away.
